He is not actually in the service of the Hong Kong Govt, but if it is desired by M. Nicolle that he should retire, I will hold, under the special circumstances of the case, that his superannuation allowance being so far treated as a case of abolition of office under the Colonial Govt as to allow his pensionable service to count as 30 years, so as to permit of his receiving a pension equal to half salary.
Before settling, however, the amount of the pension, I desire to be furnished with the usual particulars.
